Introducing FuturaGIS™ 1.0!
Futura’s suite of ArcGIS 9.3-compatible software has a new name! FuturaGIS 1.0 incorporates the GIS, Staking, and Mobile applications into one integrated installer, allowing the applications to share common components and simplifying overall code management. The all-in-one installer will automatically load the FuturaGIS 1.0 suite and then give you the opportunity to register the individual applications you are licensed to use. And best of all, when you decide to take advantage of another piece of the FuturaGIS suite, it's as easy as registering a new license!
In addition to unifying the Futura suite of applications, FuturaGIS 1.0 introduces two major new tools: Futura Queries and Futura Templates.
Use Queries to create unique reports that you can run as needed, or use any of the standard reports included in Futura Queries:
- Pole Count per Circuit
- Miles of Line
- Downline Consumers by Phase
- Joint Use Attachment Count
- Transformer Load
- and more!
Use Templates to create your own standardized method for inserting complex objects: create a template when needed, save it, and then use the template the next time you need to insert that time-consuming object. You can create templates to insert something as routine as a structure with multiple construction units, or to save time with more tedious insertions, such as:
- Switch Gear Cabinets
- Substation 1-Line Diagrams
- Multiple Meter Panels
- Any complex insertion - the possibilities are endless!

Spotlight on Integration
Our integration with SEDC’s suite of utility applications already leads the industry, and now we're expanding that connection to include Security Lights, Meters, and Transformers. We're also working on a more automated KWH/KW Usage interface that will debut this winter.
We've just recently completed batch and "real time" MultiSpeak web service interfaces that enable two way communication with NISC’s iVUE CIS and ABS systems.
This fall will be busy! We're working with Partner Software to develop a smooth method for importing work order jobs from their MultiSpeak 4.0-compliant Staking Partner application into FuturaGIS 1.0.

In Progress...
Our development teams are putting the finishing touches on several projects that will make FuturaGIS 1.0 even easier to use:
- Adding a built-in Damage Assessment toolbar to the Staking and Mobile applications that will allow field input of plant inspection data.
- Adding support for Integrated DGPS Post-Processing, giving users the ability to make corrections from within FuturaGIS 1.0 on feature information collected by a GPS device.
- Adding an interface to PowerLine Technology’s PoleForeman application that allows a user to design the construction job in FuturaStaking and then seamlessly evaluate the structures, guys, etc., in PoleForeman.
These features - and others - will be available in future releases of FuturaGIS.

FuturaReader™ Is Here |

FuturaGIS 1.0 includes the much anticipated FuturaReader, a desktop viewer using the free ESRI ArcReader application as its foundation. But what makes FuturaReader special? In addition to a custom "find" feature and network trace capabilities, it also includes a GPS interface to help route yourself on the map!
FuturaReader is standard in the FuturaGIS 1.0 suite.
